Jax Harms
PROFILE
Jax Harms is a trans vocalist, songwriter, guitarist and arranger working across folk, roots and americana traditions. His work draws on the storytelling lineage of those genres, exploring voice as a space where identity, memory and inheritance meet. Alongside his performance work, Jax writes collaboratively across genres, bringing a lyric-led approach shaped by folk traditions and ensemble practice.
Jax is a member of Trans Voices, the UK’s first professional trans+ vocal collective, and also performs with London Contemporary Voices.
WRITING & CREATIVE WORK
Participant in collaborative songwriting camps with Electric Marmalade and 2% Rising, writing across pop, alternative, country and electronic contexts.
Recent co-writing includes sessions during The Great Escape Festival with Jo Hill, developing contemporary country/pop material rooted in UK regional storytelling and americana influences.
Co-writing collaboration with ILĀ and Catrin Vincent on original unreleased material.
Prepared vocal transcription and arrangement materials for ensemble performance with Imogen Heap at the Roundhouse (2026).
Alongside collaborative work, Jax maintains an ongoing solo writing practice rooted in folk, roots and americana traditions, with a focus on lyrical storytelling, harmony and voice-led composition.
